As a school, our PSHE Curriculum is based on the Rotherham Scheme of Work (2020).

RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education)

In September 2020 it became a statutory requirement for all schools in England and Wales to teach Relationships, Sex and Health Education as a fundamental part of the curriculum. At Kiveton Park Infant School, we believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is a crucial step in effectively meeting individual student needs and continuing to develop our curriculum.

Consulting with parents/carers is a requirement of the RSHE guidance, and the responses each year have been overwhelmingly positive. Our policy and curriculum will always reflect any updated government and local authority advice.

Before responding to the consultation, we recommend that you read the statutory government guidance (https://educationhub.blog.gov.uk/2025/07/new-rshe-guidance-what-parents-need-to-know/) and the school RSHE policy (https://www.kivetonparkinfants.co.uk/policies).  The consultation was sent out by email at the start of October. If you require the link re-sending, please contact the school office

If you have any questions about RSHE, please speak to Mrs Goucher or Mrs Carr.
