The children loved taking part in skipping workshops last week. It was great seeing children practising their skipping skills at break times following the workshops, enjoying the new skipping ropes that were purchased

We had a great assembly today delivered by Rotherham United Football Club. This season is their Centenary Year where they are celebrating 100 years of RUFC!

I had a fantastic time this morning, playing in the snow with the nursery children!

Before Christmas, our Reception children visited the Finningley Lodge retirement housing complex to sing Christmas carols for the residents there. This annual visit is very much appreciated by all at Finningley Lodge, and we are proud of our children for performing so well in front of an audience.

Join us for our Christmas performances: Nursery children will be taking part in a sing-a-long in the school hall, on Tuesday 16th. Reception (F2) children will be performing a nativity in the school hall, on Thursday 18th. KS1 (Y1 and Y2) children will be perfoming a carol concert on the school playground, on Wednesday 17th. Our KS1 classes had a great virtual author lesson recently with Tom Palmer and Carolina Rabei. They spoke about their book ‘War Dog’ which looks at a true story of a dog called Judy that helped soldiers in the war. The children then made drawings of Judy the dog in challenge time!

Our sports ambassadors had their first meeting recently. They had a chat through their roles and responsibilities and what they think would improve play and lunch times to make children more active. They came up with some great ideas so watch this space!!

Our new KS1 science club is really popular ☺️ At the first session the children learnt how to write secret messages using lemon juice! 🍋

The Year 2s had a great interactive maths lesson in the hall this week. The children were looking at subtraction where the numbers cross a ten boundary eg. 12-4=

The KPI Christmas Raffle will be happening again this year. If you have any donations for prizes, we would be very grateful. All funds raised go directly back to school, helping us buy resources for the children and reduce the cost of school trips. We often have local businesses donating vouchers, hampers etc and we really appreciate these kind offers, so if you have any connections please let them know.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our newly selected KPI Sports Ambassadors ! Huge congratulations to the team! 🎉 Mr Lever has carefully considered all the applications (which was tough with so many talented applicants) and we are excited that these dedicated students are now part of the team. Thank you for supporting our students in their ambitions, and we look forward to watching these ambassadors shine in their roles!

We are pleased to share our pupils who were nominated for the ‘Top Table’ last half-term. A huge congratulations to all the children who received this recognition for their excellent behaviour and manners during lunchtime 😊 Children are selected by our lunchtime staff for consistently demonstrating respect and politeness towards others. The children in KS1 have been learning different painting techniques and skills this term. They have then applied them in a Georgia O’Keefe inspired painting. The Y2 has shown she can mix light and dark shades, and use them appropriately in her work. “I’m an artist!”, she said
